Game Overview:
Four Swords was a bonus game that came along with a Game Boy remake
version of A Link to the Past. The game was the first multiplayer game
ever created in The Legend of Zelda series. It allowed the player to
connect with up to three other people and compete head to head with
them, collecting rupees and different prize items in order to win the
competition.
While
the game was a competition, it was also a game that required
teamwork too. In order to defeat certain bosses, the players
had to work together to win. Certain blocks could only be
pushed by all four players, and certain gaps could only be
crossed with teamwork.
The game had a weird system of using items, which only allowed you
to hold one item at a time. Different items were scattered throughout
the levels on pedestals. You were only allowed to use one item at a
time, and if you wanted a new item, you had to drop your old item.
Overall the game was a short demo of the game to come, Four Swords
Adventures, and it was just a fun freebie, but is definitely worth having.
