Scores:
I am judging
Ocarina of Time on how good it looked back when it came out, not how
it looks to us now.
Overall
Score: 8.6 (Look, I think overall it deserved a ten, but for
some reason, it came out like this.)
Gameplay:
9
I gave the gameplay of this game a nine because, hey, face it, it
is the best, and one of the most challenging games, ever created.
It has very nicely designed dungeons, puzzles, and enemies. The only
thing that kept this game from getting a ten was the fact that the
boss fight were way too easy. Nintendo did not do so hot trying to
make the boss fights hard. Once you figure out the strategy part of
the fight, it is smooth sailing from then on; at least through the
boss fight, anyway.
Graphics: 8
I gave the graphics of Ocarina of Time an eight because they are stunning.
(Keep in mind that I am judging this game on how it looked when it
came out, not now.) People looked upon these graphics as they looked
upon Microsoft's Halo game's graphics today. But, since Nintendo did
not have as much technology as they do today, so there were graphic
glitches in this game. That is why this game got a eight in graphics
and not a ten.
Difficulty: 7
I gave this game a seven in difficulty because, although the puzzles
and dungeons were brilliantly created, the game isn't very hard. The
only reason this game got a seven was because of the incident in the
Water Temple. The incident I'm referring to is the "Key Incident";
it is when you get the second key and you use it on the door of the
indoor water elevator instead of the right door two levels up. When
you accidentally make that mistake, you must start the game over,
there is no other option.
Addictiveness: 9
I gave Ocarina of Time a nine in addictiveness because it is one of
those games where, if you start it, you don't stop until you finish
or you get stuck. You have to finish otherwise you might die. This
game is a perfect example an addicting game, because it is not too
challenging that you can never get by something. The only reason it
did not get a ten is because, in this game, if you get stuck, you
get frustrated and you end up stopping, and sooner or later, you're
done altogether and you leave it alone. It is too easy to get stuck
if you're lazy.
Viewer Response: 10
Nobody can fight me on this one. Ocarina of Time was a HUGE hit. It
sold 7.1 million+ copies, and won the Game of the Year title
in 1998. Ocarina of Time has been voted number one game of all time
by numerous magazines, including two countdowns by Nintendo Power,
both times taking the number one spot. Everyone loved it, and everyone
remembers playing it and falling in love with it, and that is why
it got a ten. I have never met a person or heard a person say that
they hated Ocarina of Time. The game was a huge success and it got
a well-deserved ten.
