Golden Frogs:

There are a total of six golden frogs scattered throughout the waters in Phantom Hourglass. Golden frogs are the employees, so to speak, of the Golden Frog Chief. The Golden Frog Chief controls all of the winds of the sea. When Link gives him a visit, and tells him of his quest and the troubles of the Ocean King, the Golden Frog Chief is glad to help. He gives Link the Cyclone Slate, on which Link can write symbols that allow him to use the Golden Frog Chief’s powers to warp from one area of the sea to another. In order to find the symbols to warp, Link must find each of the six golden frogs scattered throughout the sea and have them reveal their warp symbols to him.

The Golden Frog Chief’s island is not marked on your map. The island can be found in the northwest corner of the sea, along the stone wall on the right. The island is you are looking for is the island circled on the map below:

If you travel up to the island, Linebeck will automatically add it to your sea chart. Once you dock there, you must solve a fairly simple puzzle to visit the Golden Frog Chief. He will then give Link the Cyclone Slate.

If you are an independent person and don’t want to use our images to find the golden frogs here’s a hint: the best places to look for golden frogs are near large bodies of land. Golden frogs will not be found in the middle of wide open where you would have to sail for five minutes to get to land. When you find a golden frog, take aim with your cannon and hit the frog out of the air. The frog will stop and talk to you and give you the Cyclone Slate Warp Symbol for that area. You should then copy down the symbol onto your sea chart.

Two golden frogs can be found in the southwest region of the sea. The golden frogs can be found in the area noted below, indicated by a circle and a small, golden frog head.

The next set of golden frogs you can locate will be found in the southeast section of sea. Again, the area is circled and there are golden heads to guide you.

A single golden frog is found in the northwest region, and is again circle on the below map.

And finally, the last golden frog can be found in the northeast part of the sea, and is marked below.

So those are all of the golden frogs found throughout the sea. Once you have all of the warp symbols, you are virtually able to travel all over the land without very much sailing. All in all, it helps save time and helps you avoid those long, boring, boat trips.
