Story:

In the beginning, three goddesses descended from the heavens and created the world as we know it. Din, the goddesses of power, Nayru, the goddesses of wisdom, and Farore, the goddesses of courage. Din, with her strong flaming arms, cultivated the land and created the red earth. Nayru poured her wisdom into the land and gave the spirit of law to the world. And Farore created life in the world that would live on the land and uphold the law. When the three goddesses left the world, they left a special relic to represent their power. It was called the Triforce. It was made up of three triangles, each representing one of the goddesses, Power, Wisdom, and Courage.

Children received a guardian fairy from birth in the Kokiri Forest. All children there never grow up, and they are all watched over by The Great Deku Tree. One day a wounded mother wandered into the forest and entrusted the Great Deku Tree with Link, her young boy. The Great Deku Tree senses something different in Link, so he took care of Link for many years. His mother disappeared into the forest with Link's sister, with whom she entrusted to the Royal Family.

Link, after living for years in the Kokiri Forest, did not have a fairy of his own, and was treated differently not only because of that, but because he was not a native Kokirian boy. One day a fairy named Navi arrived at Link's house and told him that the Great Deku Tree wanted to see him. Link was not allowed to leave to go see the Great Deku Tree without a sword and shield. So Link gathered the Deku shield and Kokiri sword and went to see the Great Deku Tree.

Meanwhile, Princess Zelda had a prophetic dream, in which a dark cloud came from the desert and covered all of Hyrule. It threw the whole land into chaos. But then a boy with a fairy emerged as a light from the forest and defeated the dark cloud and saved Hyrule. That boy's name was Link.

Link arrived at the Great Deku Tree and was told about the creation of Hyrule and was also told that a curse had been put on the Great Deku Tree by a thief named Ganondorf. The Great Deku Tree had refused to give Ganondorf the Forest Emerald, one of the keys to the Golden Land. Link entered the Great Deku Tree and lifted the curse that was upon him. But Link was too late. Bt before the Great Deku Tree passed away, he gave Link the Kokiri's Emerald and told him to go see Princess Zelda in Hyrule Castle. Link left the Kokiri Forest and started towards Hyrule Castle.

Link stopped at the Lon Lon Ranch on the way over to Hyrule Castle. He made an acquaintance with horse named Epona and a girl name Malon. Link then went from there to Hyrule Market and purchased the Hyrulian Shield, but it was too big for him now, so he saved it for later. Link traveled up to Hyrule Castle where Princess Zelda resided. Link snuck pass the guards and went to talk to Princess Zelda.

When he got there he showed Princess Zelda the Forest Emerald and the princess told Link about the new man that came from the desert. His name was Ganondorf Dragmire. He acted liked he loved the royal family, but Zelda said she had spied on him and she knew that all he wanted was the Triforce so he could control the land of Hyrule. She told him to go collect the other two Spiritual Stones and come back to see her. Before he left, he was taught Zelda's Lullaby, the Royal Family's song, by Impa, Zelda's maidservant and caretaker.

Link defeated monsters and learned new moves and got new items. Link got the second Spiritual Stone, the Goron's Ruby, from the Goron leader, King Darunia, after he defeated the monsters in the Dodongo's Cavern and making it possible for the Gorons to feed on the delicious rocks once again. And Link got the third Spiritual Stone, the Zora's Sapphire, from the Zora princess, Princess Ruto, after rescuing her from the belly of their deity, Lord Jabu-Jabu, and defeating all the monsters inside Lord Jabu-Jabu to make him a happier god. Link then headed back to Hyrule Castle to talk with Princess Zelda.

When he got there, it was raining and just turning dark. When he came closer he saw the drawbridge lowering as Princess Zelda and Impa race past on a horse. Then Zelda throws an object to Link , but it lands in the moat. Before Link could retrieve it, a dark cloaked figure comes out and curses under his breath because he lost them. He then questions Link about where they went, and because Link would not tell him anything, Ganondorf hits Link with a spell and then rides off.

When Link woke up he dove in the moat and got the Ocarina of Time, and through it, he learned the Song of Time. Which he played at the alter in the Temple of Time in front of the Door of Time. When Link played the song the three Spiritual Stones took their places and the Door of Time opened. Inside was the Master Sword inside the Pedestal of Time, which could only be pulled out by the Hero of Time. Link went forward and pulled the sword out. But because he was not old enough to be the Hero of Time, he was stored in the Temple of Time for seven years. But when Link entered the Temple of Time, Ganondorf followed him, and when Link pulled the Master Sword from the Pedestal of Time, he opened the gate to the Sacred Realm, and allowed Ganondorf entry to the Sacred Realm.

Seven years later, Link woke up in the Temple of Time and was face to face with the one remaining sage of the seven sages, Rauru, who was the sage of light. Rauru told Link that the sages were assigned to protect the Master Sword and the Sacred Realm, but Ganondorf had locked up the other six sages in temples filled with monsters and had sealed off their powers. So Rauru assigned Link the job of going into the temples and awakening the sages so they could seal away Ganondorf in the Dark World. (The Dark World was the Sacred Realm before Ganondorf touched the Triforce and wished it become full of evil.)

Link emerged from the Temple of Time into a world of darkness. Link found out that when he pulled the Master Sword from the Pedestal of Time, he allowed Ganondorf entry to the Sacred Realm. Ganondorf had touched the Triforce, but since the three forces were not in balance, the Triforce had split into three parts and traveled to the ones chosen by destiny. Ganondorf had gotten the Triforce of Power, and had used it to turn Hyrule and the Sacred Realm into a living hell.

Link then felt inclined to return to his home in the Kokiri Forest to see how his home has changed over the seven years he was asleep. When he got there, there were ferocious plants everywhere and everyone was confined to their houses. Link stopped by his house first, and, when he got reacquainted with his house. he went and talked to some his old friends and one of them told him that Saria was looking for him. When Link found Saria in the Lost Woods and she told him about her secret place and about the old temple. Link went in the Forest Temple and awakened Saria of the Kokiri as the Sage of the Forest. Link traveled to the Fire Temple and awakened King Darunia of the Gorons as the Sage of Fire. Link went to the Water Temple and awakened Princess Ruto of the Zora as the Sage of Water. Link then ran to the Shadow Temple and awakened Impa as the Sage of Shadow. Link went to the Spirit Temple and awakened Nabooru as the Sage of Spirit. Each one of the sages, when awakened, gave Link a part of their power in the form of a medallion.

Now it was time for Link's final battle with Ganondorf, the sages helped Link get to Gaonodorf's Castle, but not before the seventh sage, Zelda, met with Link in the Temple of Time. Once Link got through all the puzzles and mazes in Ganondorf's Castle, he faces Ganondorf. It was an epic battle between good and evil, and, according to the ancient scrolls, their swords clashing were like thunder and shook the very gates of heaven. But it was Link who emerged the victor over the two. But as Link came out of the battle room, the castle started to shake and crumble. Link led Zelda out of the castle, but when they reached the end of the castle, the entire castle collapsed. And out of the ashes and dust, came a bigger, tougher, and more powerful enemy. Ganon. (Out of the frying pan and into the fire!)

Ganon formed a wall of fire around the two fighters and blocked Zelda out of the fight. Ganon then cast Link's Master Sword out of the arena and attacked Link. Link pulled out the Biggoron's Sword and the Megaton Hammer and went at Ganon with all of the strength left in his body. Link fought for a while and became tired, but then Zelda, with her magic, was able to throw Link back his Master Sword, which gave him a newfound strength. link defeated Ganon with the Master Sword and Zelda, with the other six sages, sealed Ganon away in the Dark World, never to terrorize Hyrule again. Or so they thought.
Link met with Princess Zelda in the holy halls of the Temple of Time. They rejoiced together, but then Zelda revealed Link's true destiny, which was to return as a child to the Kokiri Forest so he could relive the seven years he wasted asleep and fighting evil. He would be sent back with nothing but a memory of being the Hero of Time. Zelda congratulated Link about his victory and then sent him back.

Link awoke in his house at the Kokiri Forest. He was home again.
