Zelda's Legends: Part II
Go back to Zelda's
Legends: Part I
These are the legends that
are shown at the beginning of the game:
The Legend of Zelda
Long ago, Ganon, prince of darkness, stole the Triforce of Power.
Princess Zelda of Hyrule broke the Triforce of Wisdom into eight pieces
and hid them from Ganon before she was kidnapped by Ganon's minions.
Link, you must find the pieces and save Zelda.
The Adventure of Link
After Ganon was destroyed, Impa told Link a sleeping spell was
cast on Princess Zelda. She will wake only with the power of the third
Triforce sealed away in a palace in Hyrule. To break the seal, crystals
must be placed in statues in 6 well guarded palaces. Link set our
on his most adventuresome quest yet...
A Link to the Past
Long ago, in Hyrule, a beautiful kingdom surrounded by forests
and mountains...
legends told of an omnipotent and omniscient Golden Power that lay
hidden
It was hidden in a sacred realm beyond the reach of men,
but one day...
...a doorway to that realm was suddenly opened...
Hoping to claim the golden power as their own, the people began to
quarrel and fight...
Many sought to enter the hidden Golden Land...
But none returned, instead, evil power began to issue forth from the
dark portal...
So the king commanded seven sages to seal the gate to the land or
the Golden Power.
Many brave knights were lost in the battle to protect the sages from
the tides of evil, but the seal was cast!
Evil flowed no more! And the seal would remain for all time...
Or so the people hoped...
But when these events obscured by the mists of time, and became legend...
A mysterious wizard known as Agahnim appeared as if from nowhere...
and with strange magic powers,
eliminated the good king of Hyrule...
He cast spells on the solders and kidnapped young maidens descended
from the sages in order to break the seal...
This destiny fast approaches for the last maiden...
the princess, Zelda...
Ocarina of Time
In the vast, deep forest of Hyrule...
Long have I served as the guardian spirit... I am known as the Deku
Tree...
The children of the forest, the Kokiri, live here with me.
Each Kokiri has his or her own guardian fairy.
However, there is one boy who does not have a fairy...
Navi...Navi, where art thou? Come hither...
Oh, Navi the fairy... Listen to my words, the words of the Deku Tree...
Dost thou sense it? The climate of evil descending upon this realm...
Malevolent forces even now are mustering to attack out land of Hyrule...
For so long, the Kokiri Forest, the source, has stood as a barrier,
deterring outsiders and maintaining the order of the world...
But... before this tremendous evil power, even my power is as nothing...
It seems the time has come for the boy without a fairy to begin his
journey...
The youth whose destiny it is to lead Hyrule to the path of of justice
and truth...
Navi...go now! Find our young friend and guide him to me...
I do not have much time left.
Fly, Navi, fly! The fate of the forest, nay, the world depends upon
thee!
Before time began,
before spirits and life existed...
Three golden goddesses descended upon the chaos that was Hyrule...
Din, the goddess of power...
Nayru, the goddess of wisdom...
Farore, the goddess of courage...
Din...
With her strong flaming arms, she cultivated the land and created
the red earth.
Nayru...
Poured her wisdom onto the earth and gave the spirit of law to the
world.
Farore...
With her rich soul, produced all life forms who would uphold the law.
The three great goddesses, their labors complete, departed for the
heavens. And the golden sacred triangles remained at the point where
the goddesses left the world.
Since then, the sacred triangle have become the basis of our world's
providence.
And the resting place of the triangles has become the Sacred Realm.
Majora's Mask
In the land of Hyrule, there echoes a legend. A legend held dearly
by the Royal Family that tells of a boy...
A boy who, after battling evil and saving Hyrule, crept away from
the land that had made him a legend...
Done with the battle he once waged across time, he embarked on a journey.
A secret and personal journey...
A journey in search of a beloved and invaluable friend...
A friend with whom he parted ways with when he finally fulfilled his
heroic destiny and took his place among legends...
The Wind Waker
Long ago, there existed a golden power lay hidden. It was a prosperous
land blessed with green forests, tall mountains and peace.
But one day, a man of great evil found the golden power and took it
for himself. With its strength at his command, he spread darkness
throughout the kingdom. But when all hope had died and the hour of
doom seemed at hand...
...a young boy clothed in green appeared as if from nowhere. Wielding
the blade of evil's bane, he sealed the dark one away and gave the
land light. The boy, who traveled through time to save the land, was
known as the Hero of Time. The boy's tale was passed down through
generations until it became legend. But then... a day came when a
fell wind began to blow across the
kingdom. The great evil that all thought had been forever sealed away
once again crept forth from the depths of the earth, eager to resume
its dark designs.
The people believed that the Hero of Time would again come to save
them...but the hero did not appear. Faced by an onslaught of evil,
the people could do nothing but appeal to the gods. In the last hour,
as the doom drew nigh, they left their future in the hands of fate.
What became of that kingdom? None remained who know.
The memory of the kingdom vanished, but its legend survived on the
wind's breath. On a certain island, it became customary to garb young
boys in green when they came of age. Clothed in the green of fields,
they aspired to find heroic blades and cast down evil. The elders
wish only for the youths to know courage like the hero of legend...
The Minish Cap
A long, long time ago...
when the world was on the verge of being swallowed by shadow...
The tiny Picori appeared from the sky, bringing the hero of men a
sword, and a golden light... With wisdom and courage, the hero drove
out the darkness. When peace had been restored, the people enshrined
that blade with care.
